Started with a walk. Built into something better.
Larne Dog Walking is a registered limited company built from the ground up in Larne — founded on one idea: that local dogs deserve better than a van ride to an unfamiliar park. We're still here. Still walking. Still improving.

Hi. I'm Scoop.
The first paid dog walk around here happened when the founder was about 14 — £30 from his brother and a friend to walk a Lurcher, a Whippet, and a Jack Russell through the streets. His own dog Woody came along too, running off the lead, doing as he pleased.
That walk stuck with him.
Years later, after quietly offering dog walking to a small group of local customers — testing, improving, starting over — it was clear that people didn't just want a dog walker. They wanted someone they could trust with their dog, week after week.
Larne Dog Walking Limited was incorporated in October 2022. A real company. A real team. Real standards.
That's where I come in.
The people who walk your dog
Not gig workers. Not agency staff. Not strangers from an app.
Every walker at Larne Dog Walking is directly employed by us. They're hired properly, paid above minimum wage, have their fuel covered, and earn more when they work hard. Dog walking isn't something they do on the side — it's their dedicated role.
Before anyone joins the team, they come out on supervised trial walks. We're looking for people who genuinely get dogs — patient, calm, switched on. Not everyone makes it through.
We're currently a team of three. We're growing carefully — because every person we add has to meet the same standard as the last.
Directly Employed
Hired, contracted and paid properly. Not self-employed gig workers — our team.
Trial Walks Before Hire
Every walker joins us on supervised walks before any offer is made. Standards first.
Above Minimum Wage
We pay properly, cover fuel, and reward walkers who put the effort in. Good people stay.
Why we started — and why it still matters
Two things drove Larne Dog Walking from the beginning: staying active and reducing stress — for the dogs, and for everyone involved.
Walking dogs every day isn't just a service. Done properly, it's one of the most important things you can do for a dog's mental health, behaviour, and quality of life. We built the whole business around that belief.
First walk: £30.
First real customer: priceless.
Our Core Values
Five things we don't compromise on — no matter the dog, no matter the day.
1. Honesty Over Perfection
We tell you what's actually happening on your dog's walk — behaviour, progress, anything worth knowing. You'll never get a generic "great walk!" when there's something real to say.
2. Embracing the Challenge
Anxious, reactive, stubborn, strong-willed — we've worked with them all. No dog is too difficult. Some of our favourite walks are the ones other walkers turned down.
3. Always Learning
We never stop learning. Our team stays current on dog behaviour and handling, and our customers get access to exclusive resources through our Community Hub.
4. Dogs First, Always
Every decision — route, group size, walk type, pace — is made around the dog, not convenience. What's right for your dog is what we do.
5. The Walk Should Mean Something
A walk isn't just exercise. It's mental stimulation, confidence building, socialisation, stress relief. We treat every walk like it matters — because it does.
No Dog Left Behind
If your dog is reactive, anxious, high-energy or hard to handle — we're built for that. We specialise in working with dogs that others turn away. Every dog deserves the best care, regardless of how challenging the walk.
Why our customers stay
We're not the cheapest option in Larne. We don't try to be.
We pay our team properly. We carry full public liability insurance. We do thorough consultations before a dog joins any walk. We send walk reports. We maintain the same walkers, same days, same times — week after week.
That doesn't happen by accident. It's the product of a structured walking programme — the same system we've built, refined, and now deliver as Larne Structured Walks™.
Every walk is part of a system.
We don't turn up, attach the lead, and walk around the block. Every dog in our care is assessed, planned for, and tracked.
The walks are structured. The groups are matched. The reports are detailed. The results are documented.
That's Larne Structured Walks™ — and it's why our dogs come alive, not just get tired.
Assessed
Every dog is assessed before their first walk — temperament, behaviour, environment, goals.
Structured
Every walk follows a plan built around that specific dog — the right type, the right group, the right duration.
Tracked
Every walk is reported. Behaviour, progress, and observations — sent to you after every session.
Ready to see the difference?
Every new dog starts with a free consultation — no commitment, no paperwork. Just a conversation about your dog.
