From peaceful riverside trails to scenic sea views, each walk offers something a little different. Bonus? They're all within walking distance of town, have nearby toilets, and are suitable for most fitness levels.
These are some of our regular walk routes – your dog could join us too! We offer stimulating, engaging walks every day of the year.
1. Town Park Loop – 20 to 30 Minutes

Terrain: Mostly flat with paved paths
Parking: Free car parking (Bankheads Lane & Chain Park)
Toilets: Nearby and open during usual daily hours
A local favourite and perfect for a lunchtime loop. This route winds through the leafy Town Park with plenty of sniff spots, shady trees, and space to stretch those paws. Great for dogs who enjoy calm environments with low foot traffic.
A classic walk we use for gentle socialisation and lead walking practice.
2. Dixon Park – 10 to 15 Minutes

Terrain: Flat and grassy
Parking: Limited – best to walk in
Toilets: Open during the day in the Park
Short on time? Dixon Park is ideal for a quick leg stretch or a low-energy pup. While compact, it’s perfect for a focused walk, light training, or a toilet break stop on a busy day.
We use this route for short solo walks and calm one-on-one training time.

Parking: Free car park near the Leisure Centre / Cafe
Toilets: Leisure Centre & Cafe
This is a sensory paradise! With fresh sea air, wide views, and the sound of the waves, the Prom is one of our most mentally enriching walk routes. It’s ideal for confident dogs and walkers who enjoy a longer stroll with beautiful views.

Terrain: Mostly flat with some steeper hills further out
Parking: Free parking at the Information Centre or River Path entrance
Toilets: Public toilets are nearby the Information Centre
One of our longer walking routes, this peaceful riverside path is perfect for dogs who love sniffing, exploring, and covering ground. As you follow the river out of town, you’ll hit a few steeper spots – great for dogs who need a bit more exercise.
We often choose this for confident dogs and dogs with higher energy needs.
5. Linn Glen – 10 to 20 Minutes

Terrain: Flat with small hills and woodland paths
Parking: Walkable from town – no formal car park
Toilets: Available nearby
Tucked just outside the bustle of town, Linn Glen offers a peaceful woodland vibe in a short timeframe. This walk feels like a little adventure, especially for curious pups who love woodland smells and varied textures underfoot.
A great option for shy or sensitive dogs – it’s quiet and less trafficked than other routes.
